THE ORDER OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE KING

The Order of the Daughters of the King is a devotional order for women in the Episcopal Church, founded in 1885, devoted to prayer, service, and evangelism.

St. Margaret’s Chapter of Daughters at St. John’s is an active, vibrant group of women who pray and work faithfully for our parish and for Christ’s kingdom. We meet at St. John’s on the second Saturday of each month to discuss business, study the Bible or Bible-based subjects, update our prayer list, and pray together, with wonderful Christian fellowship throughout.

Our service projects include sponsoring the Giving Tree at Christmas, a spring baby shower to benefit Pregnancy Aid, and an Advent Tea in early December to enrich our preparation for the Christmas season.

We wear a silver cross, our habit, with the motto, Magnanimiter Sustine Crucem, “with heart, mind and spirit, uphold and bear the cross.” It is our privilege and joy to serve as prayer warriors for St. John’s parish and for you.

All women are invited to attend a meeting.   To become a member requires a study and training period of an hour a week over three-months.  For more information ask any member (look for the silver cross!), or contact Lena Nealley at 248-225-8554, This email address is being protected from spambots.
